Yes, yes, I know I’ve written about this before. Sort of. The flip-flop issue to a business meeting; wearing clothes to let people know you are a professional, etc. But, and this is a big but. What to wear to the “after-hours events” we all attend weekly. Do you show up wearing your “I’ve been on a jobsite” clothes or do you change to something clean, crisp and more appropriate? Or do you wear those revealing “Hollywood-looking” outfits to show off what you can’t during office hours? The answer is a big NO to the Hollywood look!
I am the last one to be prudish, but I do believe there is a time and place for everything, and the only place for your Jennifer Lopez-type clothes is not at a professional event in the Valley of the Sun. Yeah, yeah! I get it. You had some work done and want to show it off. Well, good for you, but it really is more about you then I want to know. Cleavage is overrated. Get over it!
If your goal is to be the entertainment for the night, well, that’s another story, but keep this in mind. Classy is cool, trashy is not! Think about whom you will be meeting and how you want to impress them, and how they will remember you in the morning.
The cardinal rule of fashion: Dress appropriately for the occasion. Not more, not less, but just right.
VERY WELL STATED
Thank you Ken.
