Interesting info on the origin of the kitchen “triangle”!
The “zone” concept is a nice, upgraded idea – I like it. It’s rational to understand planning kitchen areas based upon work “zones” and outfitting them with the tools to make that space(s) efficient and productive.
I’ve seen high-end homes with 2 kitchen islands but, all the tools (warming trays, refer drawers, cook top, etc.) were between the perimeter counter and the 1st island. This, by default, commanded the 2nd island to be used, entirely, as a serving (buffet) surface. Your ideas could have made for a highly efficient kitchen!
Thanks, Nancy!
