Inspired by 18th-century workmanship and loved for its timeless, utilitarian style – the  Shaker door style is an age old design that fits in with traditional and contemporary kitchens. With its recessed panel and clean lines, it is one of the most versatile cabinet styles. This door style is timeless and is favored by most designers.

The terms shaker cabinets and shaker-style doors comes from an American community established in the 1790’s. Today a simple kitchen with a recessed door and no moldings is often referred to as ‘Shaker’ but has nothing to do with the craftsmanship and fine detail of Shaker furniture.
The most popular cabinet door style in the past several years and I would venture to say for the future, is the shaker door. It will, in my opinion, outlive every other door style on the market.  This door style can be considered a chameleon.  The color or wood species, the cabinet hardware, the countertop material and the backsplash controls the total look and design of the kitchen, from traditional to contemporary, as previously noted.
