Nancys avatarWho has the time to read or listen to the news?  Or, for that matter, who wants to know what’s going on in this crazy world we live in?  I do check the tabloids and online websites for what’s happening just so I can share these moronic moments with you.  Here are the highlights of the week:

That missing Malaysian plane may never be found, but we cannot assume that all the passengers are in another world yet.  It seems obvious that some strange people have done some strange things with that plane, so with no proof that the plane crashed, there is always a smidgen of hope.   Unfortunately, the families of the passengers and crew have no closure and have been on a constant roller coaster.

Pope Francis said on Friday that he took personal responsibility for the harm done by priests who sexually abused children, and he pledged that the Roman Catholic Church would confront the issue unflinchingly and impose sanctions when necessary.  That’s a mighty big pair of shoulders, Fran, but it’s about time someone did it.  Let’s hope the current priests are pure in thought and actions, and those other priests get what they deserve from a higher authority.

Selena Gomez has fired her parents on a professional level, sighting that “she has outgrown them!”   No surprise here.  Gomez is a Bieber brat!  These Hollywood crazies, no matter what their age, are just that.  They complain about the paparazzi following them, and then do stupid things to get in the news!   Enough said!

Just like Oprah, Kirsti Alley of Cheers fame, is on the yo-yo train.  I feel sorry for her because we have all gained and lost weight during our lives.  The difference is that we don’t include millions of people in our journey to be fit.  So naturally, when Kirsti gained back 20 pounds, she went back to selling the Jenny Craig weight lose system, which leads to more publicity.  Geez, I wish someone would pay me to diet after pigging out!  What a game!!

And, of course, we can’t forget the passing of Mickey Rooney, the little curmudgeon who’s been around Hollywood for 90 years with more than 200 films to his credit.  Are we surprised that his family is bickering over several things including where to put his remains.  This famous actor died with a total worth of $18,000.  Now that’s a tsk-tsk moment, for sure!

I could go on indefinitely, but I need to get back to the real world!
