As of August 1, 2023, Americans will only be able to purchase LED lights from retailers across the nation as an official ban on incandescent lightbulbs.
- It won’t be illegal to own incandescent light bulbs, it will be illegal for stores to sell them and companies to manufacture them.
- The government announced a ban on the manufacturing and selling of incandescent bulbs, saying it will help Americans save money and help the environment.
- LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs will take the place of incandescent bulbs.
- The Department of Energy says LED lights provide more light using 75% less energy and last 25 times longer than incandescent light bulbs.
- LED lights are estimated to save families about $100 per year.
I’ve stocked up on the ones we use for a couple of years, till the light bulb police chill out.
I am SO happy to know China, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Mongolia, the Stan’s, most of S. America & Africa/ECOWAS, Iran, Iraq, Romania, Mexico and…. are going to save the globe by embracing a ban on incandescent bulbs!
The U.S. represents less-than 6% of the world’s CO2 emission from incandescent bulbs.
Targeting REAL energy ‘hog’ industries to make a difference has been circumvented to appease, yet, another greedy industry!
By my calculations – using the following formula: P(Bulb Choice[y]=1|X)=f(β0+β1Env.Cosciousness+β2 Controls), with a likelihood of adoption equation: LogL=[∑i=1n[yi ln(Φ(β0+β0Xi))+(1−yi)]ln(1−Φ(β0+β1Xi))] – the fragmental adoption of LED or CFL replacements by an overwhelming number of the world’s countries is minuscule!
