I am stepping off my soapbox this week so I could wish you all a very Happy, Healthy and prosperous New Year.  As an eternal optimist, I always feel that the coming year will be the best one yet.

A 2010 study found that there are five key items that contribute to positive thinking, which, in turn, results in happiness: being grateful, being optimistic, practicing acts of kindness, relishing in how lucky you are, and using your strengths. It’s in being aware of these aspects of your daily life that positive thoughts will flow, providing for better well-being and overall joy.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the companies who support Designers Circle by advertising.  Without them there would be no Designers Circle, so please support their business, visit their showrooms and use their products when you can.

I also want to thank everyone who reads Designers Circle and passes it on to their friends, and attends the Happy Hours with a smile to meet and network with others in the Design Community.

And to all my writers who have participated in the Design Blog so you all can learn from their experiences.  I appreciate them more than they know.

I have found by chatting with people that Nancy’s Soapbox has a following and is the topic of conversation on Monday mornings.  Complaining with a New York attitude has given comic relief to the mundane, day-to-day events that are typically annoying.  I have enjoyed writing this weekly column for the past 9 years and look forward to another year, at least.

There will be several changes happening on Designers Circle in 2017.  I welcome your feedback, your comments and your suggestions.

To all of you, until next year Happy Holidays . . .
