When I am going to make a right turn, if there are pedestrians in the cross walk, they move across the street at a snail’s pace?  I wonder how fast they would walk if there were no cars turning, but I’m not there to see it, obviously.  It’s like the old question, “If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it, does it make noise?”

When I stop to give the right-of-way to the pedestrians (and yes, I know it’s the law), I have observed the way people actually walk in slow motion when they spot my car.  If they happen to look at me as they crawl across the street, they give me that “I dare you to hit me” look.  Well, I’m a little smarter than your average bear, and besides,  I don’t look good in stripes!  It takes a lot of patience, but I just sit and stare at them, and wonder if they have ever driven a car or have always been a pedestrian.  Oh, and lest I forget the parking lots which have become a giant sidwalk for these same oblivious people.

Of course, half these people are looking down at their iPhones not having a clue about what is going on around them.  For all they know, they could be walking off a cliff or into a pit of alligators.  I’m not going to generalize, but if they have a “smart phone”, how come they are so brainless?  The other half sans an iPhone must be in “La-La-Land.”

By no means do I think things will change just because I complain about them, but it sure is nice to rant and rave about some of my everyday experiences.  Now be truthful!  You do agree with me, don’t you?
