Design associations not only connect like-minded individuals but also contribute to the elevation and standardization of the interior design profession. With this being said, can a designer have a successful business without becoming a member of one of the following organizations?

ASID –   The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a nonprofit organization based in the United States that promotes the profession of interior design.

Their mission is to elevate the value of design and designers by supporting innovative, informed, sustainable and healthy initiatives that promote thriving and vibrant environments to work, live, learn, play, and heal. The Foundation is dedicated to providing resources and tools necessary to grow the interior design profession through scholarships, research, and education with the support and donations of members.

NKBA – The National Kitchen + Bath Association (NKBA) is a non-profit trade group that promotes professionalism in the kitchen and bath industry. Established in 1963 as a network of kitchen dealers, it has evolved into the premier association of designers, retailers, remodelers, manufacturers, distributors, fabricators, installers and other industry professionals.

The mission of the NKBA is to enhance member success and excellence, promote professionalism and ethical business practices, and provide leadership and direction for the kitchen and bath industry 

IFDA – The International Furnishings and Design Association is a worldwide professional alliance of leaders representing the diverse industries that constitute the universe of residential and commercial furnishings and design

At IFDA, our mission is to inspire collaboration within the furnishings and design industry to support its people, their products and services.

IIDA – The International Interior Design Association is the commercial interior design association with global reach. We support design professionals, industry affiliates, educators, students, firms, and their clients through our network of 15,000+ members across 58 countries.
