I have been so busy lately that I haven’t even had a moment to watch the news to find out what’s going on in our world. It’s much easier to scan my NY Daily News app and get a summary of the important events.
I’m not too busy to know that Greece needs to make some important decisions regarding their possible bankruptcy. Iran is still playing games with some world leaders about their nuclear programs (some things never change), and a notorious drug lord broke out of a high security prison in Mexico City for the second time. These could be great topics for movies, right?
Justin Bieber made big news the other day when he had his wisdom teeth removed. He tweeted his event, which was retweeted 16,000 times. Who cares what he does with his teeth? He’s been in the news enough to be sickening.
Then, of course, we have the constant Jenner updates. What is Bruce/Caitlyn wearing, eating, saying, etc. Bruce is not the first nor will he be the last to change genders, but with the amount of money being spent on designer wardrobes, hair and make-up and photo shoots, you would think this person is the only transgender in the world. What happen to Chas Bono? Maybe Cher’s offspring should join the Kardashian camp to get some publicity! By the way, at 65 years old, wearing those skimpy little skirts is definitely not appropriate, and Bruce is too tall to mix in with the crowd. He should not listen to his daughters, but use Jane Fonda as a role model.
And finally, the breaking news was that Carrie Underwood had to smash a window to get her baby and dogs out of a locked car. She blamed the dogs. Yeah, right? She should have had an extra key, and not tweeted to her 4.6 million followers about how stupid she was. Yes, we all do stupid things, but do we want EVERYONE to know?
In my humble opinion, I think there are way too many people who don’t have a life. Something is lacking if they really care about these last 3 news items. If most people were asked about Greece or Iran, I don’t think they would have a clue.
Do you agree or disagree?
I absolutely agree!!! We need to be informed about world events while at the same time taking care of our own at home business or family. I worry about Americas overall values sometimes. Corporations are considered people and can donate huge money to politicians, my nieces and nephews like to text and shop(no work at all) and escapism seems to dominate the population.
