On January 26th when I wrote about China, specifically Wuhun, being affected by a new strain of virus, I never in my wildest imagination thought it would invade America.
Today we are seeing the devastating affects of COVID-19 in our own country, as well as the world. Who knew that in just 2 months it would drastically change our way of living?
Last week I wrote about people hoarding toilet paper but what I didn’t realize is that people are scared so they are stocking up their homes with much more than they need, not caring about the next person. That’s not us! Americans are loving, caring people who go out of their way to help others. The TV medical shows have donated much needed medical supplies to hospitals and health centers. People are giving blood, checking on their family and neighbors and volunteering where they can.
Many businesses are closing their doors and resorting to conducting online business. Many are setting up their employees to work from home. More e-purchasing and telecommuting will, in my opinion, continue for a long time.
The best thing we can all do is follow the guidelines that the CDC has listed to help combat this pandemic. Unfortunately, social distancing is on this list, so almost everything has been cancelled worldwide. I say almost because there are still a few “hold-outs,” but most likely will join the long list of cancellations.
It’s times like this that I wish I had a magic wand, but I don’t, so let’s be positive and know that we will get through this together.
Stay healthy, please!
Nancy,
All good points and thank you for the positive message.
