There’s no denying it! We are in the middle of the holiday season – right between Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Years. It happens every year, and have you noticed that every year it seems to go faster than the previous year?
I wonder whose idea it was to bunch these holidays together. It’s great for the retailers, but really plays havoc on my design business. Not that I’m a Scrooge, but getting anything done from now until January 4th is a task.
I have some holiday music on to get in the mood of the season. By the way, is it politically correct to call it Christmas music? Got my little tree all decorated, and I’ll be making macaroons for our party this Thursday. My grandpuppies have no clue that during these holidays they might get a stocking filled with treats. Food is the same all year round to them.
Coincidentally, this week’s authors of Design Blog and Designers Corner are on my page about the holidays. Less stress, more relaxation, a glass of wine and chocolate to make this season more enjoyable is definitely on my list.
I can’t finish this soapbox without mentioning how lucky we all are that we can enjoy another day. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of all the horrific shootings that have taken the lives of so many innocent people in our country. We can only hope for a safer 2016.
